Please be advised that from Tuesday 1st April 2025, new European Union border requirements will begin, with the EU’s ICS2 (Import Control System 2) becoming operational for all road and rail shipments.
The introduction of ICS2 for road and rail transport aims to:
- Improve security – aiding customs authorities to assess potential risks or threats associated with the goods entering the EU.
- Facilitate trade – by streamlining existing customs processes, ICS2 will help to speed up the clearance process.
And with more detailed information being included on the documentation, more data will be available to track goods going into the EU. This will include specifying exactly what the items being imported are, along with their purpose, and any relevant serial or part numbers.
Did you know that ICS2 isn’t new?
ICS2 was initially introduced in 2021 for air and sea freight shipments!
