Following typhoon Bebinca, where Shanghai and the surrounding areas were hit by the biggest typhoon for 75 years, freight delays are expect due to port closures. Aircraft were grounded, with airport closures too.
With the impact of the typhoon, coupled with the start of Golden Week, there are likely to be delays to cargo being shipped, especially by sea.
The Port of Shanghai is the busiest port in the world, and due to the extreme weather conditions, vessels arriving into Shanghai have recently halved. Due to the backlog of vessels attempting to dock, and those set to sail, an impact will be felt across the supply chain.
The Port of Ningbo has reported a similar situation to that in Shanghai, with a significant drop in vessels docking and departing.
According to the BBC, more than 400,000 people were relocated from Shanghai, with the impact of the typhoon being felt right across the region.
The arrival of typhoon Pulasan has brought additional adverse weather to the region.
